October is winter lawn time
Putting in a winter lawn is easy:
- Cut the summer grass as low as possible.
- Dethatching is recommended to produce a good seed bed. (Scotty’s
rents dethatchers)
- Buy good seed (perennial vs. annual).
- Water 3 times a day to keep the seed wet until it germinates
(approx 2 weeks).
- TAKE MOWER TO SCOTTY’S TO GET TUNED UP AND SHARPENED
(wash it first for coupon deal)
- Turn down water once it’s green.
- Mow every week or two all winter.
- Enjoy the dark green Oregon rye lawn!
